Stanley Ralph Bill? Taylor 1928 " 2008 Stanley Ralph Bill? Taylor died peacefully at home in the embrace of his family on December 29, 2008. The life of his devoted wife of 55 years, Ruth, will be forever diminished by this loss. His soul and his legacy live on in the hearts of his six beloved children: Patricia Taylor-Barootes and husband Bryan Barootes, Lake Charles, Louisiana; Kathryn Taylor, Atlin, BC; Gerald Taylor, Regina; Laura Taylor, Regina; Jennifer Taylor, Regina; James Taylor and wife Joanne Sinai, Victoria, BC. Bill was Boppa? to twelve cherished grandchildren: Morgan Reed, Yorkton, SK; Will and Eve Reed, Regina; Leah Taylor (Tyler Gardner), Ladysmith, BC; Lily Harmer-Taylor, New Denver, BC; Adam, Benjamin, and Kate Schentag, Regina; Daniel and Sarah Molder, Regina; Owen and Liam Taylor, Victoria, BC. Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Mabel Taylor, his sister Betty Held, brother Clarence Taylor; two nieces and one nephew, he is survived by his brothers: Ed (Audrey), Rapid City, SD; Bert (Vionne), Pierre, SD; and sister Dorothy (Wally) Mickleborough, Caron, SK; sister and brother-in-law, Gerri and Steph Atchison, Cranbrook, BC; as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Bill was born and raised in Regina and actively farmed in the area until the time of his passing. His work ethic was legendary. The three words he so often spoke to his grandchildren were work is fun.? He was a man of few words, quiet strength, and deep sensitivity. - Thank you for walking the floor at night with crying babies. - Thank you for always keeping your promises. - Thank you for being able to fix things. - Thank you for announcing no dessert tonight? when your favourite was being served at family gatherings. - Thank you for making us feel safe. - Thank you for sometimes being crotchety and giving us a laugh at your expense " our own Oscar Leroy.? - Thank you for being gentle with animals and loving all our pets. - Thank you for turning out the lights and announcing bedtime? when you felt the party was over. - Thank you for teaching us to love the land. - Thank you for imprinting your incredible work ethic on each one of us. - Thank you for loving us all unconditionally. - Thank you for fighting the battle, at such cost, to stay with us for the last five years. Rest well, beloved. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 7:00 " 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Kathy Platt officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
