Obituary of Paul Spenrath

SPENRATH, PAUL " On Monday, January 5, 2009 Paul Ludwig Spenrath passed away at the age of 83 years. Paul was predeceased by his parents Maria (Weber) and Franz Spenrath; brothers John, Joe, Bruno, and sister-in-law, Olga. Paul is survived by his long-time Little Brother?, Jeff Arrowsmith (Karen Proud) and their son Tucker; brothers, Henry (Nora), Frank, Rudy (Dora), Al (Bev); sister, Sr. Miriam; sisters-in-law, Mary, Gladys, and Sylia. Paul was born August 25, 1925, in Trier, Germany, then immigrated to Canada with his family in 1931. Following elementary school in Bruno, SK and as a boarder at St. Josephs College in Yorkton, Paul attended numerous other colleges in Canada and the United States obtaining an education degree, several business degrees and a PhD in Psychology. Paul taught from 1945 " 1954, first in New Osgood for one year, two years in Pesane and six years in Saltcoats before becoming a salesman, and later a Regional Manager for Rothmans of Pallmall where he remained for over 25 years. After retiring from Rothmans, Paul started several tobacco shops (Jades) and enjoyed spending time there with Jeff and their loyal customers. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan, enjoyed golf, and was involved with the S.G.A and C.P.G.A. Paul also enjoyed riding motorcycles, taking numerous bike trips with Jeff. His latest and greatest love was his grandson, Tucker. He will most recently be remembered sitting in his favourite chair at Jades Smoke Shop. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Flowers gratefully declined.
