Obituary of Ruth Mae Howe

Ruth Mae Howe February 23rd, 1930 " January 17th, 2009 Ruth passed away peacefully in her own home, with family by her side, on Saturday January 17th, 2009 at the age of 78 after a second brave battle with cancer. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Maurice; parents, Edmund and Guinevere Kerr; brother, Robert Kerr; in-laws, Thomas Howe, Velda and Bill Nicholson. Ruth is survived by her children, Terry, Cheryl (Ronald), and Shannon; her grandchildren Erin (Jeff), Evan, Kimberly, Lisa and Robert; her sister-in-law, Betty Kerr; nephews and nieces, Jim (Lynne), Darryl (Lynn), Heather (Kevin), Jack (Jody) and several grand-nephews and nieces. Ruth had a love for sewing, reading, growing flowers, gardening, music and travel. Her dedication to the Order of the Eastern Star saw her as a member for 45 years. Clearwater Lake was a favorite summer spot with many a games of Hand and Foot with family and friends. Ruth was a strong independent just get it done, but do it to the best of your ability? kind of mother, who loved her family. Ruth will be sadly missed by all who shared in her life. A Celebration of Ruths life will be held on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK. Interment will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask you to make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or your favorite charity.
