Obituary of John Douglas McClellan

McCLELLAN " John Douglas (Doug) passed away peacefully on January 20, 2009 at the age of 84 years. He will be dearly missed by his son Jeff McClellan (Yvette Kabay) and his grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole McClellan; his ex-wife Sylvia McClellan; his two sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Doug was born in Wolseley, SK on March 17, 1924. He started barbering at a young age and realized that this was what he enjoyed. After many years of traveling the province as a barber, he finally settled in Regina. He opened Dougs Hairstyling in the Regina Inn, becoming one of the first barber stylists in the city. Because he was such a talented artist, he was able to use his skills to help teach others and pass on his trade. He continued barbering for most of his life until he was unable to do what he enjoyed due to his deteriorating health. A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Regina Pioneer Village where he spent the last few years of his life. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
