Obituary of Nancy Alice Casswell

Nancy Alice Casswell January 19,1917 December 31, 2012. Nancy Alice Casswell died peacefully in her sleep, in the morning of December 31, 2012, at the gate of the year 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Russell Casswell (1963), her parents - father, Frederick W.G.B. Miles (1970) and mother, Leah Alice Miles (1980), as well as three siblings: brothers Jack (2005) Qualicum, BC and David (2002) Bragg Creek, AB, and sister Audrey Eleanor Clarke (2009) Calgary, AB. Deeply saddened by her passing and celebrating her life are Nancys children, daughter Linda Alice Diaz and grandsons Fernando and David and their families (West Bloomfield, MI), son and daughter-in-law Frederick and Carol Casswell (Regina, SK), her sister Joan and husband Nace Waters McGee (Duncanville, TX) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families: Patti McGee (Duncanville, TX), Nancy McGee (Lancaster, TX), William McGee, (Bridgeport, TX); Dr. Miles D. Clarke, (Ottawa, ONT.), Kurt Miles (Calgary, AB), Wendy (Ken) Copithorne, (Calgary, AB), Jack Miles, (Calgary, AB), Patrick (Kerrie) Miles, (Bragg Creek, AB); Michael and Wynne Miles, (Victoria, BC) and their families. A private family graveside service occurred on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Regina Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to remember Nancy is invited to consider a contribution to a special project of personal choice - to make a positive difference in the life of a child somewhere in the world. Together, family and friends will recall her favourite, oft recited: The Gate of the Year And I said to the one who stood at the gate of the year: "Give me a light, that I may tread safely into the unknown!" And he replied: "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That, shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way." So, I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night And He led me toward the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East. So, heart, be still! - Marie Louise Haskins (1908)
