Obituary of Gladys Edna Neely
NEELY- Gladys Edna, with sadness, we announce the passing of Gladys on March 2nd, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Gladys was born on July 23rd, 1918 in Bredenbury, SK. Gladys was the youngest daughter of Walter and Minnie Parkinson. As a young woman she loved school, reading and was very artistic. Gladys worked in Lemberg where she met and married Henry Neely in 1941. They farmed for many years on the family farm in Lemberg. After WWII they lived in several locations throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Gladys was a homemaker, raising her two children. She was always sewing, knitting, painting and she loved music and dancing. After her children were grown Gladys worked for the Provincial Laboratory. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Henry in 2005; her son Warde in 2003; by her brothers Lawrence and Howard Parkinson; and her sister Ethel Gibson. She is survived by her beloved daughter Catherine (Jim) Lind and grandsons Kyle and Brandon of Virginia USA and by her granddaughter Lorrie and great-granddaughter Kolina of Manitoba. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitmore Park United Church, 336 Durham Drive, Regina. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
