Obituary of Faith Elizabeth White
WHITE, Faith Elizabeth
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful mother and friend on Friday, March 13, 2009. Faith was the last surviving child of Clarence and Alice Thompson. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Edith, son-in-law David Slater, several sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews and special adopted grandchildren, Jacob and Jessalyn Spooner, and Allison and Maureen Johnson and many friends, both near and far. Faith grew up on a farm near Phippen, Saskatchewan and attended a secretarial course in Saskatoon, which gained her employment for a number of years. She met and married Percy White and moved to a small acreage north of Kenosee Lake. Here she and Percy raised their only child, Edith. Faith was always willing to go the distance for her many friends and neighbors. She loved people and took great pride in giving of herself wherever her time and talents were needed. Her garden and the lovingly attended flowerbeds that she and Percy raised each year, were a source of great comfort and joy to both of them. Her faith in God and the strength she gained from that faith, saw her through many hard times and remained a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She loved music and spent many hours playing the piano, organ and singing in various choirs, church groups and leading the neighbour children in song She was an active member of the Legion Auxiliary and played for November 11th services at Kennedy for twenty years. She and Percy loved to dance, play cards and visit with friends. Her family was very important to her and she lovingly cared for family members whenever the need arose. Mom " it is so very hard to say good-bye to you. You were the best Mom a girl could have ever wished for. Your life lessons, your faith in God and your musical and gardening talents will remain with me always. I am blessed to have had you with me for such a long time and now you neednt struggle any more. You are at peace. We shall miss you terribly, but we know your pain is over and you can, once again, dance with Daddy on that special cloud reserved only for you. Go in peace. We love you and good-bye. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Westminster United Church, 3025 " 13th Avenue, Regina with Rev. Jack Bray officiating. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 " 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon S7K 2H8, the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or to a charity of choice.
