Obituary of Ruth L. Findlay (Cordwell)

RUTH L. FINDLAY We are saddened to report the loss of Ruth Findlay (nee Cordwell) on Sunday, May 12, 2013 following an extended battle with cancer at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband John; sister Brenda Whittingham of North Saanich, BC; son Blair (Sherry); grandsons Steven and Johnathon; daughter Tery (Doug) Irvine; and granddaughters Danielle, Kimberley, Courtney and Shavawn of Victoria, BC. Ruth was born in Calgary, AB in 1932, the second of two children of Edward and Marjorie Cordwell. She attended Western Canada High where she met and later married her husband, John Findlay. A career in business and government had them living in Ontario for 10 years. They settled in Regina in 1966. Over the years, Ruth was very active in the service of St. Philip Anglican Church and the Qu’Appelle House Auxiliary. Her outgoing personality made many friends and she will be missed by all who knew her well. Funeral Service will be held at St. Philip Anglican Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
