Obituary of Margaret 'Jean' McAfee Johnson

MARGARET JEAN JOHNSON Jean went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2009 at the age of 96 years. Jean was born in Cranbrook, BC April 6, 1912 and moved to Regina with her family as a small child. She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Leeta Garrett; her first husband Glenn Stewart; her sisters, Thirza and Laurel; her second husband Carl Johnson; and daughter Donna Jean Stewart. Jean is survived by her daughter Gail (Fred) Braun; sister Muriel Ray; grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) Dautremont, David (Valerie) Braun, Darcie (Calvin) Wells, Michael (Laurie) Schafer and Candace (Peter) Atack; thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. After high school, Jean went to Regina Business College for one year and then attended University of Saskatchewan. In 1951 she was employed as a personal shopper for Eatons in Saskatoon. In 1954 she married Carl Johnson and moved to Regina. Special thanks go to the staff of Princess Care Homes, Pioneer Village 2E and Pasqua Hospital 4E for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Jeans life will be held at the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, with Pastors Ernie Metz and Merv Switzer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeans memory, to the Kedleston Gospel Camp or the Gideon Bible Society. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
