Obituary of John 'Jack' Glenwood Krogan

JOHN (JACK) KROGAN On Thursday, April 16, 2009, John (Jack) Glenwood Krogan, late of Regina, passed away at the age of 69, predeceased by his parents, John and Agnes Krogan and brother Robert. Jack is survived by his wife June (Oancia); children Carla (Shawn McGrath) of Williams Lake, BC, Lana (Trent Stevely) of Regina, Vonn (Rob) Schmidt of Chicago, Nevan (Kimberly) of San Francisco, Naden (Brenda Chow) of San Diego and 7 grandchildren: Seamus, Synnove, Carson, Hunter, Mattea, Dalton and Shayla. Jack was born in Elbow, Saskatchewan on May 27, 1939. He grew up on his family farm and later studied engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Jack and June married on November 7, 1964. Jack spent close to 50 years in road design and construction across the province, which included his involvement in the twinning of both the first and last mile of the Trans-Canada Highway in Saskatchewan. Jack was a Shriner, a Thirty-third Degree Mason and a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus of Council 1247. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and visiting family. Grandpa Jack was adored by his grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 22 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 10:30 am at St. Annes Roman Catholic Church, 1701 Cowan Crescent with celebrant Monsignor Ken Miller and concelebrant Father Richard Jasiak officiating.
