Obituary of Grace Ethel Mario

GRACE ETHEL MARIO (nee Orosz) Grace passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Grace was born August 8, 1921.Her maiden name was Orosz.? Her parents were Michael James and Mary (nee Chille) Orosz. Her father Michael was born in Esterhazy in the same farmhouse as Grace. Her mother Mary was born in Karasz, Hungary. Grace has two sisters, Mary Ann Lamanas and Loretta Eisbrenner. Her brother Bill passed away in 2005. Grace met her husband George in Regina at his parents home while she was visiting, as the Marios were from Esterhazy as well. Grace then moved to Regina to attend Normal School, or Teachers College. George enlisted in the Air Force and moved to Brandon to train. Graces first teaching job was at Coronation School in Windthorst. She then taught at a school near Southey and then moved back to Esterhazy to teach there. On July 8, 1946, Grace and George were married in Esterhazy. They moved to Regina after and lived in a garage of friends of Georges family. Grace and George had nine children, Grace (Gerry), Lorinda (Guy), Doretta (Rick), Donalda (deceased) (Del), Marian (Keith), Annette (Gary), Christopher (Pam), Gregory (Karen) and Michael (Terry). George passed away in July 2004. Grace loved gardening, playing cards, scrabble and bowling. Grace was an active member of the CWL at St. Cecilias Parish in Regina. She lived at her daughters Care Home in Lumsden for the past few years before moving into the Heritage Home. Grace has 30 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilias R.C. Church, 5020 7th Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Field of Honour in Riverside Memorial Park.
