Obituary of Gordon Gerhardt Gerlach

GORDON GERLACH MAY 13, 1941 " MAY 4, 2009 It is with very heavy hearts the family of Gordon announce his passing. He passed away peacefully with courage and dignity, surrounded by his loving family. He truly was a remarkable Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and will be forever missed and loved by everyone whose lives he touched, which were many. Gordon was born in Langenburg, SK and raised on his family farm. He was a true farmer at heart and loved telling his family stories about life on the farm. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Josef (1987) and Mathilda (1976) Gerlach; his brother, Arthur (2002). The legacy he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife and soulmate of 43 years, Cathy; sons, Tim, Trevor and Ian Gerlach; daughters, Marietta (Murray) Lerat, Donna (Darin) Delorme and Jackie Gerlach, all of Regina; his grandchildren, David, Dustin, Murray and Mark Lerat, Lacey and Bryceton Fink and Jessica and Joshua Gerlach, as well as a new grandbaby expected in August, all from Regina; great-grandchildren, Arianna and Ryan Smith of Regina; sisters, Dorthy (Ken) Novak of Yorkton, Margaret Wenet of Melville; brother Edgar (Liz) Gerlach of Edmonton; his best friend, neighbor and garden buddy of more than 20 years, John Huber of Regina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws, too many to mention but not forgotten. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. A special thank you to the ICU at the Pasqua Hospital, Dr. Jones and the special nurses on Unit 4D for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
