Obituary of Marie Theresa Manz

MARIE MANZ (nee Kainz) It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Manz announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, 13 days before her 87th birthday. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Karl in 1980; her parents, Edward and Marie; sisters, Minnie (John) Kohlruss, Alma (Victor) Ruecker; brothers, Carl, John (Molly) Huber, Conrad (Mary) Huber, Arnold Huber, Albert Kainz, Emil (Edith) Kainz and Ernest Kainz. Marie is survived by daughter Gladys (Jim) Straus and their daughters Wanda (Ken) Beal and their children Brett and Marc, Nadine (Toby) Frisk and Annette Straus and her children Andrea and Christina; daughter, Gloria (Albert) Nagy and their children Lisa Nagy and Jason Nagy (Tammy Pilsner); sister, Elenor Powers; brother, Ray (Betty) Kainz; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kainz, Susanna Huber and Anna Kainz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Marie was born May 19, 1922 on the Kainz farm. Marie and Karl farmed in the Gregherd district until 1973 when they moved to Regina. In 2002 she moved to Benson Manor in Regina, where she enjoyed the rest of her life, being with friends, playing cards, bingo and attending live music socials. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina with Pastor Dennis Hendricksen officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
