BARBARA DORIS BLACK
Barbara Doris Black, late of Regina, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her husband, Andrew Hunter; grandson, Cole Black; parents, Katherine and Melzar Demorest; one sister; and six brothers, Doris is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Dwayne) Johnson of Regina; son, Patrick (Trixie) Black of Weyburn; grandchildren, Gillian and Daniel Johnson and Baylee and Hayden Black; sisters, Bernice (Emil) Rutski, Fauquier, BC, Bessie (Joe) Butel, Southey, SK; brother, Perry (Madge) Demorest, Santa Clara, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was born on the family farm at Southey on November 3, 1928. She married Hunter in 1946. They later farmed in the Disley area. Doris moved to Regina in 1993 and spent many wonderful times with her grandchildren and friends. Prayers will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Little Flower RC Church, 420 College Avenue with Rev. Bill Mahoney presiding. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
