Obituary of Rev. Donald Gordon Sanders

Rev. Donald G. Sanders May 5, 1923 - May 8, 2009 Don left this earth to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom he served for many years. He has completed his journey on earth and is now enjoying his heavenly home. He was predeceased by his parents (Arthur and Marianna), his brother, Neil, and his loving wife Isabel (1998). He leaves behind six children: Ruth (Ross) Elliott, Margaret (Gary) Topham, Dorothea Dantouze, Brian Sanders, Larry (Mary Ann) Sanders, and Lorraine (Johnny) Ates, as well as eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one brother Leroy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was born in Picton, Ontario, but moved to Regina in 1949 to attend Bible School. He served as a pastor in many churches in western Canada. He married Isabel in 1949 and together they served the Lord until her death in 1998. Don was a loving husband and father who always let Jesus shine through his life. He was a generous man, giving both his time and money to help others along the way. Don will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Special thanks to the staff of ward 3B at the Pasqua hospital for their kindness and help to Don. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK.
