Obituary of Frank George Goertzen

GOERTZEN, Frank George passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital on May 13, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents: Jacob and Margaretha, and his brothers: Isaac and Charles. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen; 3 sons: Terrence (Ethel), Leon (Janey), Rene (Debbie) and daughter, Roxene. There are 7 grandchildren left to mourn: Sandi (Jeff) Conrad, Sarah (Spiros) Kavadas, Angela (Dale) Seale, Warren (Julie) Loupin, Jared (Sarah) Goertzen, Jason (Shelley) Goertzen and Scott Goertzen. There are 9 great-grandchildren who will no longer see him: Jemma, Caleb, Levi, Josiah, Iliana, Cody, Shenise, Nolan and Lauren. He leaves behind his brother, John (Hilda), and 3 sisters: Viola (Andy) Denluck, Violet (Stan) Young, and Tina (Garry) Hill and sister-inlaw, Evelyn. Frank was born in Rosthern, SK and worked with the Dept. of Natural Resources and Tobin Tractor Ltd. He moved to Regina in 1957 and lived there happily till his death. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Zion United Church Memorial Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held on June 19 at 1:00 pm. at Rosemont United Church.
