Obituary of Dorothy Helen Ferguson

FERGUSON, Dorothy Helen (nee Paul) " passed away suddenly on June 30, 2007 at the Regina General Hospital. Dorothy was born on the family farm at Govan, SK on October 3, 1918. She was the second of four children born to Bert and Ima Paul, pioneers of the Govan area. Predeceased by her brother Stuart and his wife Ruby. She is survived by her daughter Judi (Barry) Hobson of Balgonie and son Ian (Michelle) Ferguson of Sooke, BC; sisters, Marjorie (Albert) Edwards of Nokomis, SK and Betty Jean (Lloyd " deceased) Kidd of Sydney, BC; grandchildren, Stacy (Brad) Hobson-Linnen, Douglas Hobson, Travis Hobson, Siobhan (Christopher) Brown, Andrew, Stuart and Jamie Ferguson; great-granddaughters Emily and Bridget Linnen and several nieces and nephews. She was an R.C.M.P. members wife and that took her to New Brunswick, Ontario and several communities in Saskatchewan. She was a past president and life member of the R.C.M.P. Veterans Association Ladies Auxiliary and was a patron of the R.C.M.P. Friends of the Museum. She was an active member of the Callie Curling Club, while her health permitted, an avid Rider fan, holding season tickets for many years, participated in the Regina Lions Adult Band, as well as playing twice weekly with two bridge clubs in the city. At her request, she will be cremated. Funeral Service will be held at the R.C.M.P. Chapel on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fred Salerno officiating. Interment to follow in the R.C.M.P. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Regina General Hospital, Cardiac Fund, 1440 " 14th Avenue, Regina S4P 0W5.
