Obituary of Wilfred Eistetter

WILFRED IGGY? EISTETTER August 26, 1927 August 16, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Wilf passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, August 16, 2012 following a short illness. He was born in Davin, SK, and at a young age moved to Regina with his family. At sixteen he became an apprentice plumber. In the 1950s he achieved the rare status of Master Plumber, an honour of which he was very proud. He was dedicated to his profession and owned two successful plumbing companies over the years. The quality of his work, attention to detail and commitment to customers kept him working well into his seventies. Wilf married Marlene Marnie? Cooper on July 1, 1954 and together they raised four daughters and a son. He enjoyed moose hunting and ice fishing with his buddies. Wilf was happiest when surrounded by family, whether at the family cottage at Sunset Cove, or more recently at home with grandchildren coming and going. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary; sisters Katherine, Anastasia and Rita; brothers Robert and Edward; and by his son-in-law Murray Robb. Wilf is survived by Marnie, his loving wife of 58 years; his five children Dawn (Bill) Elliott and their children Meghan (Andr) and Tom (Andrea), Darcee Robb and her children Jon (Nicole) and Kate (JJ) and their son Deegan, Tracy (Mike) Mamona and their children Michelle and Sara, Jami (Adam) Berg, Jim (Jodi) Eistetter and their son Cooper. He is also survived by his sister Diane (Dave) Flegel and sister-in-law Debbie Eistetter. At Wilfs request, there will be no funeral. A private family celebration will take place. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Morris for his visits and care. A very special thank you to the many Palliative Home Care nurses and Home Health aides who looked after our Dad with such tenderness, respect and dignity. With the endless help and support of these angels, we were able to care for him at home. Donations in memoriam may be made to Regina Palliative Home Care, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A4.
