Obituary of Arthur Karl Schienbein

SCHIENBEIN, ARTHUR K. " On Monday, July 23, 2007, Arthur, age 77, passed away peacefully, with family members and a long time friend by his side. He is predeceased by his eldest son, Wayne and grandson, Brent and Ryan; father, John Schienbein and mother, Margaret Rathgeber; brother, Raymond Schienbein; father and mother-in-law Peter and Mary Ulmer; brothers-in-law, Colin Schienbein and Alfred Ulmer . Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; daughter, Corinne (Kurt) Schemmer; son, Scott; grandchildren, Kevin and Stacey Schemmer; one brother Darrell (Marianne) Schienbein; sisters-in-law Ruth Schienbein and Margaret Ulmer; brother-in-law Raymond (Lorraine) Ulmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur was born and raised on the family farm near Neudorf, SK. After marrying Norma and moving to Regina he worked at the Simpsons Warehouse and later changed careers to become an insurance salesman. His 33 years in the insurance business, firstly for Aid Association for Lutherans, and then Lutheran Life, gave him the opportunity to make many close friends and acquaintances. Art and Norma have been long time members of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. His favorite hobby for many years was playing guitar in various bands at weddings and other functions. Arthur also enjoyed spending time with his children and especially enjoyed going to watch his grandchildren play hockey, ball and soccer. Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Service for Arthur to be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 370 McIntosh Street North, Regina, SK on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Darlene Harrison officiating. Interment will be at Regina Memorial Gardens, #1 Highway East, Regina, SK. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 7:00 " 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A special thank you to Dr. Lotz, Dr. Karunakaran and all the special nurses and staff at the Regina General Hospital Dialysis Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthurs memory will be gratefully accepted at the Regina General Hospital Dialysis Unit, 1440 " 14th Avenue, Regina SK S4P 0W5.
