OBRIEN, MARY RITA " On Friday, July 27, 2007, Rita passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Rita was predeceased by her parents, John T. and Marcella OBrien, brother Lawrence OBrien, brother-in-law, John Overend and niece, Maureen OBrien. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sister Eleanor OBrien (Sister Mary Rita), and Catherine Overend; her brother Bert (Dorothy) OBrien; her nieces and nephews " Cheryl (Roy), James (Pat), Valerie (Dave), Janet (Angelo), Rick (Dawn), Celia, Sandra (Haukur), and Karen (Bron); great nieces and nephews " Andrea (Scott), Andrew, Gina, Eric, Ian, Jeremy (Monica), Adam, Colin, Jay, Tierney, Jordan, Benjamin, and Joshua; grand-nieces and nephews " Alicia, Annika, Elias, Julia and CaSandra, and several close friends. Rita could always be relied upon to remember family birthdays and her gifts were always carefully chosen to make us feel extra-special. She worked for most of her professional career in various positions at Canada Trust in their Calgary and Vancouver offices. She loved to travel with family and friends and especially enjoyed her visits to Palm Springs with her sister and extended family. Rita was an avid reader and could be relied upon to give an informed opinion on current events. She took pleasure in following several sports over the years including curling and football. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2049 Scarth St. Regina, SK, S4P 2H5, with Rev. Emmett Morrissey presiding.
