Obituary of William Hanna

HANNA, William (Bill). Bill passed away peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Monday, July 30th, 2007 at the age of 73, with his girls at his side. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Noble and Evelyn Hanna, his brother Gerry, and his brother-in-law, George Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Doreen, their three daughters, Audrey (Glenn) Naldrett of Winnipeg, Diana (Kent) Fletcher of Calgary and Yvonne (Earl) Potter of Pilot Butte, six grandchildren, Sean, Trevor (Laura) Naldrett, Angi Fletcher, Kristen, Kira and Josh Potter and great-grandchild, McKenzie Naldrett. His greatest enjoyment was his family and he took great pride in their achievements. All of his extended family, aunts, uncles, brothers, sister and many cousins have treasured memories. In his retirement, golf was his new career and he enjoyed countless hours with his golf buddies Fred and Dwayne. Bill was a long term member of the ACT/UCT. He worked in the construction industry most of his life and left Blackwood Hodge (Tobin Tractors) when his illness made it impossible to travel. He was a life member of the Road Builders Association of Saskatchewan and is remembered throughout the prairies. The family would like to express their thanks to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and caregivers who have helped him over the years. We would especially like to thank Dr. Cameron for always being there. Thanks also to the Palliative Care services of Dr. Clein, Dr. McMillan, nurse Bob and all the others who have helped us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or a charity of your choice. A celebration of Bills life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue on Monday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
