Obituary of Bernard Steven Metz

METZ, Bernard Steven Ben? It is with sadness that we the family announce Bens passing on Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Predeceased by his parents Magdalina and John Metz; beloved daughter, Brenda Lee in 1984; six brothers; and four sisters. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Stella; daughter, Linda; grandsons, Doug (Tallie, Trevor and Troy); great-grandchildren, Terren, Trey, Brityn, Jade; sister, Kay Delnea; brother, Nick (Ivy); as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and family friend, Wilma Vaudreuil. Ben served his country in World War II. He enlisted Gnr 17th Fld Rgt. Member Legion, Army Navy Vets Legion of Frontiersmen, reaching the rank of Captain. He worked at Burns, the City of Regina and McGavins Bakery. Ben will be fondly remembered for his love, compassion to help others, work, dance, travel, a gentle gentleman. Rest in peace. Special thanks to the angels at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 7:00 " 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina.
