Obituary of Robert James Rae

RAE - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving father and grandfather Robert James Rae on Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Predeceased by his parents James and Irene Rae; sister Margaret; his wife Doreen; daughter Carole; and two brothers-in-law Russell Girvan and Lorne Dermody. Robert leaves to cherish his memory sons Don (June) and Rob of Regina; son-in-law Ilie Bora of Northfield, IL; grandchildren Stephanie and James Rae and Andrew and Stephen Bora. Also, he leaves sister-in-law and good friend Joyce Gessey; in-laws Gerry (Eleanor), Pat and Dolly Dermody, all of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was born at Broderick, SK and grew up in the Wheat Plains district where he built friendships that lasted a lifetime. Bob and Doreen were married November 27, 1954. Robert led an active lifestyle and had a great love of the outdoors. He enjoyed riding his bike or walking through the park. He loved bowling and was an avid hockey fan, from playing in his youth to watching in his latter years. Bob will be remembered as a kind and generous person who will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Flowers gratefully declined.
