Obituary of William Allan John Driver

DRIVER " William Allan John, late of Regina, SK passed away suddenly on Friday, August 17 at the age of 82 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 56 years, Ellen, was a wonderful dad to Allan (Deana) and Linda (Jack Malagride); and the best grandfather to David (Kelli), Lisa (partner Dan Miller), Dani (special friend Stephen Folnovic), Todd, Mike and Kate. He is also survived by sisters Mabel Mitchell, Lucille McDonald and June Driver. He was born on January 4, 1925 in Humboldt and grew up in Regina. Bill served on a corvette in the navy in the Second World War. He married Ellen in 1951 and they made many long-time friends during their time together. Bill worked for SaskTel for 35 years, enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes and attending Regina Pats games and Saskatchewan Roughriders games. Bill loved his family more than anything and loved attending events that involved his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him and words cannot express what a kind, caring person he was. A celebration of Bills life will be held at Heritage United Church (Rochdale Boulevard and Arnason Street), Regina, SK on Wednesday August 22 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ken Powers officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill may do so to the Regina General Hospital Hemodialysis Unit or the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Special thanks to the staff of the hemodialysis unit and cardiac units at the Regina General Hospital.
