Obituary of Paul Edward Metz

METZ, PAUL EDWARD " We are deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden tragic death of our beloved son and brother, Paul on Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Paul lost control of the family car while driving to help with the harvest and died at the scene of the accident. Paul was born March 16, 1991. His short life was full of hope, promise and optimism. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Greg and Wanda Metz, his sister Krista and brother Nicolas, all of Wilcox. Also sharing in this tragic loss are his grandparents, Maurice and Vonnie Metz of Wilcox; great-aunt Catherine Metz, of Regina; great"aunt and uncle Muriel and Frank Morgans of Melfort; Aunt Maureen, Uncle Jay and Eva of Saskatoon; Uncle Darryl, Aunt Agnes of Holdfast, Aaron and Sherrie, Adam and Krista (Aleah), Ryan and Dannielle (Addison), Elysee, Uncle Rob, Aunt Linda, Mary and Katherine, Uncle Tom and Aunt Jodi, Cassie, Brenna and Anica, Uncle John and Aunt Terrie, Brittney, Veronica, Maurissa, Skylar and Saxton; as well as many extended family. Paul was predeceased by two infant brothers, Joseph and Gary; his grandparents Jack and Blanche Dennis and his special great-aunt Sr. Marjorie Metz. Paul was a gifted scholar, whose studies at Notre Dame College put him on the honour role, he excelled at Maths and Sciences. He was a talented athlete, pursuing interests in hockey, rugby, football and track. In Spring 2007 he was selected to play for the Saskatchewan Under 16 Rugby Team and very recently returned from the National Rugby Festival in St. Johns, Newfoundland. His violin playing at St. Augustine Church was a special gift he shared with pride. He will be missed by family, many friends and team mates. Prayers will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Augustine Parish, Wilcox. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Augustine Parish with Rev. T. Eusebio Tubale presiding. Interment in Wilcox Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
