Obituary of Kenneth Edmund McAulay

McAulay- Kenneth Edmund of Cupar, SK, passed away peacefully at the Cupar Nursing Home on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years Margaret; parents, Ralph and Florence McAulay; his brother Gordon; and sisters Lois and Jean. He is survived by his three nieces, Joan Pirsak of Fort QuAppelle, Barbara Amell of Portland, Oregon and Leslie Wlatz of Vancouver, Washington; his nephew Glen Webber of Regina; Margarets nephew Ken (George) Peters and her grandchildren who really enjoyed their time at the farm, Paula, Pamela, Susan, Jennifer and her five great-grandchildren. Ken was born June 20, 1918 on the farm at Markinch. He grew up and went to school in Markinch and made farming his career. In 1962 he married Margaret Myers and they lived on the farm for 18 years. In 1987 they moved to Cupar and in 2005 the Shalom Nursing Home became their home, which they really enjoyed. Ken did income tax returns for people in the community and he had a long list of customers that kept coming back every year. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his men friends over coffee in the local cafe. A special thanks to Ken Peters, who was there to look after him until he passed away. Cremation. Interment will be at a later date in Markinch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
