WILLIAM LESTER HRUSZKA (BILL) NOVEMBER 10, 1924 " SEPTEMBER 4, 2007 We are saddened by the passing of our Dad, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Dad was born in Cantuar, SK on November 10, 1924. He was the only son of Nick and Lena Hruszka. At the age of 18 he joined the army, trained in Regina, then was sent overseas. Upon his return to Canada, he met our mother Nettie, whom he married in July of 1947. Dad started to work for the Saskatchewan Liquor Board in April 1950 where he worked until his retirement in August 30, 1986. Bill is survived by his daughter Lorraine (Jim) Aschenbrener of Birds Hill, MB, son Leslie Hruszka of Regina; two grandchildren, Jamie (Brad) Minsky, Bill Aschenbrener of Winnipeg; six great-grandchildren, all of Winnipeg; and his best friend of 60 years, Wally Walliduda of Regina. I would like to say thank you to Frank and Sylvia Schomburg for all their help with dad over the years. Thank you to the staff at Parkside Extendicare who looked after him and making a home that he was very happy to be in. Dad, I will miss your daily phone calls, beginning with Ho-Ho Merry Christmas, whats new!? Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Captain Sharon McDonough officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com God came to him and said, It is getting dark, it is time to go?. The Lord took him by the hand and took him home.
