Obituary of Borghild Olivia Anderson

ANDERSON, Borghild Olivia January 21, 1913 " September 7, 2007 The family of Borghild Anderson is saddened by the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother on Friday, September 7, 2007. Mom was born in North Dakota and immigrated as a young child with her parents to Ardill, Saskatchewan. She left the family farm in 1930 to begin training as a psychiatric nurse in Weyburn where she met her future husband, Andrew Anderson. They were married on December 27, 1934. As the wife of a grain buyer, she lived in various Saskatchewan towns before the family settled in Regina in 1950. Mom was an active member of Broadway United Church until the last few years and was a member of the Regina Chapter No. 7, Order of Eastern Star, for over 50 years. She was interested in the world around her, from politics to sports, but her greatest joy came from being with her family and hearing about the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Borghild was predeceased by her parents, Rikka and Christopher Swenson, sisters Ragna and Helma; brother Ben; and her husband Andrew. She is survived by her brother Arnold Swenson; son Andrew (Loreena) Anderson; daughter Ruth (Reg) Lawrence; son Brian (Gail) Anderson; grandchildren Kathryn, Barbara, Sandra, Marnie, Kirby (Karen), Karin (Doug), Garth (Tina), Gary (Michelle), Glenn (Dawna); ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at QuAppelle House for the kind and loving care provided to Mom. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Avenue, Regina, with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating.
