Obituary of Douglas Allan Catling

CATLING " Douglas Allan Catling, Regina Beach, SK, born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, June 27, 1920, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Pasqua Hospital " Palliative Care Unit after a brief illness. Doug was educated in Saskatoon, and lived and worked in Rosetown, Regina and Regina Beach. On March 22, 1949, he married Bette Kathleen Crabtree. Doug is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Bette; daughters, Marlyn Keaschuk (Michael) of Herbert and Virginia Munro (Garry) of Regina; grandchildren Anna Keaschuk of Istanbul, Evan Keaschuk (Valerie Lessard) of Ottawa and Riley Munro (Jacqueline) of Regina; great grandchild Isaiah Munro of Regina; sisters-in-law Betty Crabtree of Regina and Jean Catling of Sooke; as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Agnes (Ashley) Catling; brothers, Ronald and Gordon Catling; and brother-in-law Jack Crabtree. Doug was a member of the Wa Wa Shrine Club " Motor Patrol, St. Andrews Lodge and the Regina Beach Yacht Club. He was the long time business owner of Mercury and Marine Sales, Regina. Dougs family would like to thank the staff at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Regina General Hospital E.R., and Drs. McMillan and Clein for their compassionate care of Doug. Cremation. A Private Family Service will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in Speers Funeral Chapel, Regina.
