MEEK, James Graydon 1920 - 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on September 10, 2007. Predeceased by his parents Lorne & Alvina. Survived by his loving family: Nora his wife of 59 years; daughters Karen (Ray) Williams - Tricia, Steven, Deanna and Laura, and Lorna (Doug) Stevens - Andrew, Sheena and Ian, all of Calgary, AB; sisters Alice Mesler and Lois Knight of Vancouver, BC. Jim was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on July 25, 1920 moving to Melfort in 1934. He served in the R.C.A.F. as a wireless operator with the rank of Sergeant from 1941 " 45. Jim married Nora Etta Aikens in Regina on July 24, 1948. Jim was a loyal employee of General Motors of Canada for 35 years (proven by 6 decades of GM only vehicles on his parking pad) before retiring from his Parts Supervisor role in 1980. He was a member of King Hiram Lodge 104 for 60 years as well as a member of the Scottish Rite bodies and a Shriner with Wa Wa Shrine Flag Corps. Jim and Nora have been long time members of Lakeview United Church where Jim had served as Chairman of the Board of Stewards. Jim was also a Past President of R.C.A.F. Association 600 Wing. Jim lived a full and rewarding life. His thoughtful, methodical and organized way served well in keeping family members centered and on-track. He was a quiet, dignified, and conscientious man who always kept an eye on the weather and his favourite team " the Riders. Jim was dedicated to family, supportive of friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, on Saturday, September 15th at 1:30 PM. Flowers are most gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be forwarded to the Wa Wa Shrine Patient Transportation Fund (2065 Hamilton Street, Regina, SK S4P 2E1) or the Lakeview United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
