Obituary of Jessie Bernice Dobbyn

DOBBYN " Jessie Bernice Murdoch Dobbyn, age 87, passed away on September 11, 2007 at Black Diamond, Alberta. Jessie was born in Moose Jaw, SK on November 4, 1919. She enjoyed life as a young woman in Regina Saskatchewan, where she married William Barkely Dobbyn and raised her two children, Cheryle and Doug. When her health began to fail she agreed to move to Alberta, but her heart belonged to the prairies. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Bill; her grandson Padraic; and her brother Cecil. She is survived by her daughter Cheryle Dobbyn-Ward (Peter); her son Doug (Linda) Dobbyn; grandchildren Zo, Keely, and Sean Dobbyn; her sister Violet Seifert; and nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her niece and nephew, Shirley and David Hansen. Although Jessie was a private person throughout her life, she touched many lives in quiet and sometimes anonymous ways. In her last years she was a delight to be around, and enjoyed her adventures in Alberta. She will be missed. She returns now to her beloved prairies.
