Obituary of David Low Davidson

David Low Davidson February 2, 1920 August 25, 2012 David passed away peacefully in Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Ward on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Born in Dundee, Scotland, David immigrated to Canada after serving in the RAF during the Second World War arriving in Regina where he soon met and wed Jean Millar. Dave, always one with a sense of humour, was eager to share a joke, tell a story or make others laugh whenever the opportunity arose. Whether it was a close friend or a person he had yet to meet David was not shy, initiating and sustaining conversation with whoever was present. Scotty as his colleagues at Sears Catalogue in Regina called him or Davey as he was affectionately known by his clansmen at the Sons of Scotland knew him as a man of dedication and passion working over 30 years at Sears and as a long serving member of the Sons of Scotland, attaining the position of Chief then Past Chief. David Showed his pride of heritage at every opportunity, none of which surpassed his theatric Address to the Haggis? at the annual Robbie Burns Days celebration. For this he practiced days on end to ensure the legacy of Robbie Burns would burn on forever. Dave was also a long serving member of both St. Andrews Church and as Cubmaster in the Boy Scouts of Canada. He is survived by wife Jean (nee Millar), son Ron of Regina, daughter Kim of Kona, Hawaii, grandchildren, Robert, Noah, Kirby and Geoffrey, as well as a niece and nephews in England and New Zealand. Dave was predeceased by mother Bella Duncan Clark Cameron, father William Davidson, brothers, John, Bill and sister Helen. A Celebration of Davids Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012.
