Obituary of Reuben Emil Croissant

CROISSANT " Reuben E. passed away peacefully in Regina on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Mourning his loss are his loving wife, Janet, daughters Lona Croissant (Johnny Fitton) of Campbell River, BC; Vonda Croissant (Andy Fearn) of Corbeil, ON; stepchildren Terry (Peter) Hoeving and Brent (Kathy) Shepperd of Regina as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was very close to in-laws Maurice (Shirley) Filson of Regina and Irene (Silas) Campbell who also mourn his passing. Reuben was the middle of seven children born to Edward and Carrie Croissant. He is survived by brothers Abbey, Raymond (Pearl) and Murray (Junette) Croissant and sisters Edna Manske, Mabel Senft and Selma Godlein as well as many nieces and nephews. Reuben was born in Meyronne, Saskatchewan and spent his early years in the area farming in Woodrow and working at the grain elevator. He retired from the Government of Saskatchewan in 1995 having spent many years working at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and the Central Vehicle Agency. Following his retirement he continued to help with the harvest on the family farm at Woodrow, was active on the board of the Eureka Fellowship, and ran his own janitorial firm in Regina. Throughout his life, Reuben utilized his many talents fixing cars, renovating houses and building projects. He enjoyed many close friendships and leaves to mourn a network of friends and former colleagues. Most of all, he loved his family, and was loved in return. The presence of this good and talented man will always be felt profoundly by those who loved him. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in St. James United Church, 4506 Sherwood Drive, Regina with Rev. Robin Osborne officiating. Interment Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
