Obituary of Walter Victor Felpel
FELPEL " Walter Victor Felpel, formerly of Markinch, SK, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by his parents Gottfried and Annie; sisters, Eleanor, Helen and Evelyn, Walter is survived by his brother-in-law John Frei; nieces and nephews, Marjorie (Heath) Sparrow, James (Delores) Lacell, Marilyn Labonte, Audrey (Gary) Head, Judy Leclerg, Debbie Moulton, Laurel (Larry) Kane, Ross (Dee) Kane and Margo Kane; numerous great nieces and nephews; also, a very special thank you to a dear and close friend Raymond Voelpel, and a special thank you to the staff at Extendicare/Parkside. Walter was born and raised in Markinch, where he also received his education. He farmed in the Markinch area all his life and then retired to Buena Vista in 1990. He returned back to Southey in 2003, residing in Pioneer Lodge. When his health failed him, he moved to Extendicare/Parkside, Regina in February 2007. He was a man who would help anyone out in a moment of need. He also drove school bus and served on the church board for many years. He was very active in the community. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 7:00 " 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Marks Lutheran Church, Markinch, SK with Rev. Larry Fry officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery.
