Obituary of Frank Edward Emmins

FRANK EDWARD EMMINS June 15, 1926 August 27, 2012 Frank passed away peacefully at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Unit 3-5 on the evening of Monday, August 27, 2012 at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Dolly Emmins; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Marjorie Emmins; in-laws Bert and Hilda Earis; brother-in-law Don Siegel and nephew Rodney Earis. Frank is survived by his loving wife Flo; their four children Barbara, Elwin, Dianne and Karen (Gerald) Zimmer; three precious grandchildren Mitchell, Stephanie and Kendall; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in Canada, Australia and England. Frank was born and raised all his life in Regina, attending Davin and Lakeview Elementary Schools and Balfour High School. Through curling, he met his devoted wife of fifty-five years, Florence Flo? Earis and they were married at Westminster United Church, Humboldt, SK on July 20, 1957. Frank was extremely proud of his 35 years with Provincial Government starting as a page for the sessions and then working in Office Services Queens Printer and being presented with a watch and silver tray at his retirement party. His retirement years were very busy as a caretaker at All Saints Anglican Church, Whitmore United Church, a printer at Fran Olsen Realty, then as a courier for Collier International Regina, retiring at 83 years old. Frank will be fondly remembered for his generosity and friendship. His passion for people and dedication led him to be on many organizations boards such as: Regina Old Tyme Association, Regina Horticulture Society, Square Dance Clubs, St. George Society, Members of Government House Society, Biography Regina, Royal Canadian Legion, as well as helping with the annual poppy campaign, Lakeview Church AOTS, cubs and scouts, Lumsden Beach Camp, suppers and driving for different events. Franks interests included curling, bowling winning trophies and awards, square dancing, camping, reading, watching tv and driving as well as enjoying his childrens and grandchildrens activities. He was cremated on Friday, August 31, 2012 with a Cremation Liturgy officiated by Rev. Derek F. Nicholls (Anglican Minister) and attended by family and close friends. The family asks you to join in a Celebration of Life at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jo Mader and Rev. Derek F. Nicholls officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Unit 35 for their compassionate care.
