Obituary of Charles Jacob Butz

BUTZ " It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Jacob Butz on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Born May 23, 1923 in Regina, SK. His parents, Karl Butz and Emilie McKelkie, sister Eva Herbert, and granddaughter, Christine Butz predeceased Charles. Charles is survived by his loving children, daughter Shirley (Brian) Lucas; grandson, Richard (Erin) Hodgkinson, great-granddaughter Emma Rose; son Gordon (fiance Diane) Butz, grandsons, Stephen (Janessa) Butz and Jason Butz (friend Heather); step-sons, John (Sharon) Woulfe and family, Robert (Thelma) Woulfe and family. He will also be missed by his nephews, Frank, Johnny, and Charles Herbert and families, and friend Allan Gordon. Charlie worked at many jobs as a young man and retired from the City of Regina. He served with the Regina Rifles. He had a long life and enjoyed traveling and socializing with others. It was just a few weeks ago he moved into a personal care home. The family would like to thank Marilyn and Ray and staff of Walsh Acres Manor for looking after him and Dr. Wrobel and all the staff at the Pasqua Hospital for their care and kindness. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Pastor Bob Leeson officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
