Obituary of Leo Gordon Hawes

LEO GORDON HAWES September 28, 1931 - August 28, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family announces Leos passing. Leo was born in Bengough, SK to Roy and Irene Brothers (nee Allard). He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather Harvey Hawes; brother Tom (Elaine) Brothers; sister Eleanor Hawes; granddaughter Shelly; and his loving wife Shirley (August 12, 2012). He will be sadly missed by his children Darlene (Terry Wrigley), Garry, Linda (David) MacLachlan, and Brad; grandchildren Jennifer, Tabitha, Kira, Austin; and great-grandchild Noah. Leo is also survived by brothers Bill (Joy) Hawes and George (Donna) Hawes; sisters-in-law Doris (Earl) Paton, Mearl (Glenn) Eklund, and Maxine (Ian) Smith, brother-in-law Gerald (Jane) Thompson; friend Lorraine Melynchuk and her family; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Leo worked for over 40 years at Weston Bakeries Ltd and will be remembered as a quiet, hardworking man with kind words for all. He loved writing, travelling and fishing. We would like to give special thanks to all the staff of the Pasqua Hospital who provided him with such care while he was a patient. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow. Family interment at Bateman, SK.
