Obituary of Beverley Jane Barlow
BARLOW, Bev of Fort QuAppelle, formerly of Regina, passed away suddenly on October 28, 2007 surrounded by her family and friends. Predeceased by her father Hugh Currie and sister Pat Arcand. Bev is survived by her mom Lily Currie; loving husband of 35 years, Burns; her loving son Rob, daughter-in-law Natasja and grandson Dylan, all of whom she was so proud and happy. Bev is also survived by her dear brother-in-law Bill Barlow (Penny) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her family was so very important to her and she loved them all dearly. She is also survived by her dog Mickey and grand dog Sal, both of whom she loved so dearly. Born in Regina in 1951 and following graduation from Balfour Technical School she worked for several years at Barlow & Lang Insurance and then completed her most proud moment of becoming a mother to Robert. Although motherhood was busy, Bev found time to volunteer her time to the library at Argyle School and Luther College. Once Rob graduated from University she found more time to give to her volunteer work. Organizations that became important to her were the Hospital Auxiliary at Pasqua Hospital - Regina, Hospital Auxiliary at All Nations Healing Hospital " Fort QuAppelle, UCW and various other committees within St. Andrews United Church - Fort QuAppelle, Eastern Star # 7 Regina Chapter, Past Honour Queen Jobs Daughters Bethel # 10, Ducks Unlimited " Fort QuAppelle. In 2002 Bev and Burns built their dream house on the family cottage property on Echo Lake and moved out permanently in June of 2003. Bev just loved the calm and peace of country living, sitting for endless hours on her deck reading, enjoying the sun, looking out at the peace of the lake waiting for Rob, Natasja, Dylan to come out for the weekend. She loved her 4 hour monthly lunches and 3 hour weekly phone conversations with her lifelong best friend Judy Killaby (Mitchell) and her shopping pals Sue and Gloria at the lake. It was friendships like these and all her wonderful friends in her various volunteer organizations that Bev held very important and dear to her. Bev was always so appreciative of her doctors and nurses. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks from the bottom of our hearts to: Dr. S. Bester and Shirley, Dr. J. Lombard, Dr. H. Ingram, Dr. H.I. Chal Chal and John, Dr. Lewis, Dr. G. Kaban, Dr. P.
