Obituary of Margaret Stonechild

STONECHILD - Margaret (Peggy) Stonechild " CWAC WWII Veteran. Born June 28, 1923, our loved one was called home by the Great Spirit on November 4, 2007, at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her parents Ben Stonechild, Nora (Keewatin-Stonechild) Thomas, and her loving companion Victor (Boss) Daniels: sons Colin, Stanley; daughters, Margaret Rose, Barbara, Dale, Shirley; several brothers and sisters; James, Bill, Lambert, and Wilmer Stonechild, Eveline Cappo, Nina Milano, Peter, Roderick, Joe, Donald and Roy Thomas. She is survived by sisters Ann Callahan, Irene Creeley; and loving children; Wanda, Gale, Drake, Brent and grandchildren; Aaron Bowering, Gwenda, Cheryl, Candace, Trevor, Lesley, Lindsey, Jennifer, Rebecca, Caroline, Stacey, Kristin, Drake Jr, Nora, Amanda, Colin, Derek, Gordon, Tracey, Daniel, Krista, Christopher, Kimberly, Aaron, Dale, Stanley, Colin, Marla, Roxanne, Victor, Stan, Jeremy, and Glennys; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also life long friends and many Elders of the First Nation communities. Peggy will also be fondly remembered by many special friends especially the Elders group of Albert Scott Community Centre. Her love and caring will be sadly missed by all. Many will remember her profound wisdom and love of the traditional way of life. She dearly loved her children especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. A wake will be held at Peepeekisis Peysakastew School on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. with Elder John (Asinawsis) Stonechild and Rev. Betty Lou Skogen officiating. The funeral service to be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Military Honourary graveside service at Wanakepew United Church on Peepeekisis First Nation. Friends and relatives are invited to a lunch following the services at Peepeekisis Peysakastew school.
