Obituary of Diana Margaret McLeod

McLEOD " Diana McLeod, born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, June 15, 1923 to Arthur and Amy Mills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2007 with her family by her side. Predeceased by her parents; brother Bill; and husband W. George, Diana is survived by her sister Alice Mills; children, Jim (Lori Read), Georgia (Richard Riach), Janis (Colin Campbell) and Karen (Peter McGeady); grandchildren, James, Christopher, Reagan, Erin, Daniel, Shannon and Ryan; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Raised in Yorkton, Diana moved to Regina in the early 40s where she met and married George. A stay-at-home mom, Diana was involved in community volunteering and local politics. She returned to the work force with the Regina Board of Education and also joined the military reserve, 16 Service Battalion, attaining the rank of Master Warrant Officer. In 1978, at the age when most people think of retirement, Diana started her own business, The Frame Shack, U-Frame-It, which she successfully operated until she sold it in 1998. Diana continued to be active in the community until her health declined. Special thanks to Gaye and the staff at Kinmara Care Home, and Dr. Brian Laursen for the loving care they gave to Mom and their unfailing support of the family.
