Obituary of Shirley Mae Luchenski

LUCHENSKI_Shirley Mae Luchenski (nee Carlberg), late of Fillmore Saskatchewan, passed quietly in the arms of her daughters November 19, 2007. She was born in her parent's home at Osage Sk. on January 9, 1936. She is predeceased by her parents Albin and Lillian Carlberg, sisters Lorraine Carlberg and Elaine Hofmeister, brotherin-law Vernon Hofmeister. Shirley Mae lived in Fillmore where she raised her daughters and worked for Canada Post for 42 years. She was an active member of the community by her involvement with the United Church, Eastern Star and Rebekah's. She was a positive influence for many young girls, because of her leadership in Explorers, CGIT and many years of directing Camp Wabamasqua at White Bear Lake. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her daughter Ione (Richard) Krainyk of Fairlight; their family Jeremy (Kim) and Jody, daughter Zelda Luchenski (Rob Cruickshank) of Regina; and their family Meghan Gabruch, Nicole, Joshua, daughter Nona Faye (Bob) McMillan of Ottawa, and their family Lyle (Michelle), Sharon (Jamie) Dent as well as great granddaughters Jade Krainyk and Alexandra Dent; brother Albin (Mae) Carlberg of Weyburn and Ole (Shirl) Carlberg of Fillmore, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday November 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace United Church of Fillmore. In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to Friends of Unit 3B c/o Hospitals of Regina Foundation, PO Box 1697, 225 Scarth Street, Regina Sk. S4P 3Z6 where she and her family were shown such care and compassion by the angels that work there.
