Obituary of Edward Lyle Tucker

EDWARD LYLE TUCKER Edward, born on July 6, 1925, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Hazel and second wife Roberta; his parents Joseph and Frances; three brothers, Harry, George and Ernie; and daughter Shirley. Ed is survived by daughter Louise and son Brent; sister Jean Benna; brother Leonard Tocker; sisters-in-law Cecelia Tocker and Lena Tocker; grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. After completion of his schooling, Ed joined Saskatchewan Power Corporation as an electrician and remained there until his retirement. He held a 36 year perfect safety record. His extensive travelling then took him to many parts of the world. He enjoyed an occasional game of golf but his main hobby was gardening and tending to his beautiful flowers, especially the roses. Dad also enjoyed working on his cars. He always enjoyed his trips to visit sister Jean and other relatives at Esterhazy SK. He was impressed so much by the beauty and peacefulness of the valley. A special thank you to the doctors who treated Ed the last few years and to Grace Brown and the staff at the Renaissance Retirement Residence for their kind support. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Kitchen officiating. Private family interment at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 5X5.
