Obituary of Kenneth Lewis Hart

HART " Kenneth Lewis Hart, late of Regina, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 1, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rebecca; daughter Carli (Mike) of Calgary; sons Mack and Mason of Regina; mother Betty of Lethbridge; brothers Wayne (Marlene) of Calgary and Garry (Wendy) of Grande Prairie; sister Trudy Kurtz (David Brittner) of Medicine Hat; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his grandparents and his father Edward. Ken was born on November 24, 1959 in Taber, Alberta and grew up on the family farm in Vauxhall. At age 15, Ken and his family moved to Lethbridge where he completed high school. In 1983, Ken was a member of the first graduating class of Olds Colleges Land Agent program. The next year, he moved to Regina where he became the land manager at Maverick Land. In 2001, he and Rebecca established Whitland Consulting Inc. where he worked until falling ill in the summer of 2007. Ken found working as a Landman in the oil and gas industry to be highly rewarding and felt blessed to have spent his career doing something he truly loved. Ken was very proud of his children and strived to make sure his family was happy. During his life, his many passions included camping in his VW van, getting his pilots license, motorcycling in Canada and the U.S., coaching Macks hockey team for nine years, and entertaining friends and family at the cabin at Katepwa Lake. Kens generosity, and willingness to help others, persistence, infectious laugh and positive outlook will be forever missed. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 5pm at Knox Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Kitchen presiding. Later that evening, a celebration of Kens life will be held at 8pm at the Conexus Arts Centre, Jacqui Shumiatcher Room. INTERMENT in All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery at Katepwa on Sunday, December 9, 2007. Flowers are most gratefully declined.
