Obituary of Rita Meredith

MEREDITH " Rita Meredith (nee Huck) passed away on Monday, December 3, 2007, age 81. Rita was born and raised in Vibank before moving to Regina with her parents. Rita worked at SaskTel until she married Edwin on June 22, 1957 and began raising a family. Her children were a great source of pride and she was never happier than when in the company of her grandchildren. Rita pursued many volunteer interests, including involvement with the Catholic Womens League (CWL), becoming area co-ordinator for The Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. Rita believed in the Christian principles of love and of helping others in need. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin; her parents, Adam and Katherine; her twin brother, Peter; her sisters Sr. Louise (Rose); Sr. Cecilia (Helen), Mary, Marion, and Loretta. She is survived by her children, Ed (Twyla), George, Father Brian, and Ken (Sharon); grandchildren, Megan, Christina, Connor, and Addison; brother Adam; sisters, Katherine, Jean, Isabel, and Hilda; as well as numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank the staff of Silva Care Seniors Home for their care of our mother over the last few months. We also wish to thank Dr. J. S. (Stewart) McMillan, the staff at the Pasqua Hospital, and the staff at the Regina General Hospital for the care provided to our mother. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Martins R. C. Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina with Rev. Msgr. Ken Miller celebrant. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined.
