Obituary of Albert Lorne Puffalt

PUFFALT ALBERT (BERT) LORNE - July 27, 1923 - December 16, 2007 We are saddened by the loss of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bert passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 16th, 2007 in Regina at the age of 84. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters and their families; Gail, Bill and Paige Fischer; Janice, Larry, Christy and Jessa Pillipow; Terry and Erin Selinger, and Doug Frenette; his sisters Martha Thompson and Francis Lonseth and brothers; Gordon, Edwin and Victor Puffalt and their families; and special friend, Lynn Turnbull. He was predeceased by his wife Rose the love of his life on June 17, 1985 and his son-in-law Jerry Selinger on May 2, 2000. Bert was born to Emil and Mary Puffalt on July 27, 1923 and was raised on the family farm near Kipling, Saskatchewan. In 1943, Bert began working with C-I-L (Canadian Industries Limited) in their dealership office in Regina, eventually moving to their retail store on Albert Street. His career with C-I-L spanned 47 years when he retired in 1990 at the age of 67. In 1951, Bert married Rose Briant (his sweetheart from Indian Head) and they made their home in Regina. He enjoyed being with people and people enjoyed being with him. Bert's sense of humour is legend! A natural comedian, he always saw the lighter side of life. We'll miss his clever puns, funny jokes and witty comments. And the slow, sly smile that followed. He was a caring father and loving grandpa. Bert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, bird and squirrel watching, summer barbecues in the backyard, hockey, and tipping a cool one on a hot summer day. He often said I dont like making plans...I enjoy just taking one day at a time. We'll miss those days but know he left this earth feeling he's lived a good life and full life with no regrets. His family will be having a private celebration on Bert's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers and if so desired donations may be made directly to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3G7.
