Obituary of Edna May McLean

McLean " Edna May (Burbridge) " It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Edna, on Sunday, December 23, 2007. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 81 years after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her children Sandra, Patty and John (Moraig); sister Pat (Ted) Clarke; sister-in-law Anne Ellis, many nieces and nephews and her many canine friends. Edna was predeceased by her loving husband, John; infant daughter Jean; her parents Francis and Eliza; brothers Arthur, Frederick, William, Douglas, Wilbert and twin sister Louise. Edna retired from Communications Canada in 1987 and spent many hours tending to her flowers and garden. She enjoyed the antics of the birds and squirrels at the feeder in her front yard. Mom loved reading, doing word search puzzles and was an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball, golf, curling, hockey, bowling and especially cheering for the Roughriders. Their Grey Cup win brought a big smile to her face as she watched the game wearing her autographed bandana. Mom will live on in our hearts forever. The memorial service is to be held on Friday, December 28, 2007, at 1:30 P.M. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Reverend Ron Sutton officiating. Interment to take place in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memoriam to the William Booth Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK. S4R 8P6, or the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143 Regina, SK. S4P 3G7. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
