Obituary of John Alexander Haynes

John (Jack) Alexander Haynes November 28, 1931 September 3, 2012 Jack Haynes of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 80. Jack grew up in Regina with his brother Doug, his mother Ellen, and until his passing, father Hector. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Jack relocated to Estevan to work as an engineer for SaskPower. He worked for SaskPower for more than 30 years until he retired in Regina as the Director of Power Production. While in Estevan he met his bride, Terry Ulmer and were married in 1961. Jack loved to spend time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed visiting his children in the many interesting places they resided. In his spare time he enjoyed duck hunting and spending time in his woodworking workshop. He was an active member of Ducks Unlimited for many years. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Terry; daughter Claire (Dale) McMaster of Calgary AB; son David Haynes of Cleveland OH; three grandchildren, Meghan (McMaster), Jack (Haynes) and Kate (Haynes); brother Doug (Pat) Haynes of Edmonton AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Ellen and father Hector. Jack requested no funeral service be held. A reception for close family and friends to celebrate Jacks life will be held at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined.
