KAVANAGH " Henry Harry? Kavanagh was born July 7, 1930 in Carbonear, Newfoundland and died December 25, 2007 in Regina, SK. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret, Stella and Ann; and brothers, Bill and Dennis. Henry was a free spirit. He shipped out on Tramp Steamers at 14 and joined the Merchant Marine at 18. Henry joined the Army and toured Korea in 1952 and 1953 as a member of the Queens Own Rifles. Upon his return to Canada, Henry demobilized himself. He toured Canada extensively by rail and other means finally settling in Regina, SK. He worked extensively as a gardener - he made things grow, including many friendships. Henry was a proud man - he worked all his life and always helped others whenever he could, either as a volunteer at Souls Harbour or as an easy touch for those in need. From your friends Henry " thanks for all the great years?. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. A Newfie Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Plains Hotel, 1965 Albert Street, Regina. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
