Obituary of Betty Shirley Parrell

Parrell, Betty Shirley August 4, 1931 - January 7, 2008 After living with Alzheimers for many years, Betty passed away peacefully on January 7, 2008. Betty lived a full and active life, first on the family ranch at Maple Creek, then raising her own family in Gravelbourg, Climax, Sturgis, Weyburn, Yorkton and finally, Regina. She was an avid curler and bridge player with a quick smile and an even quicker wit. Betty will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert, sons Drury (Adi), Gilbert (Jean), Barry (Cheryl), Robert (Catharine) and daughter Marnie (John), grandchildren Robert, Wolfgang, Julie, Jackson, Eva, Isabel, Aki, Billy and Sophia, and brother Barry Drury, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Grace and Joseph Drury, sisters Ida and Ruth, and brothers Ronald and William. Prayers will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the RCMP Chapel, 5600 - 11th Avenue, Regina with Rev. Richard Jasiak MSF presiding. Interment in RCMP Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, #301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
