Obituary of Ronald George Barker

RONALD GEORGE BARKER February 23, 1948 September 4, 2012 Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side after his brave fight against cancer. Predeceased by his parents, George and Frances, Ron is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Ann and their daughters, Tracy (Jason) and Brandi (Mark) and his grandchildren, Ethan, Hanna, Jayla and Brooklyn; in-laws, Michael and Violet Williams; sisters, Dawn (Terry), Lorrie (Dave) and Linda (Larry); brothers, Bill (Sheila) and Fred (Beryl); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ron worked at Ipsco for thirty-six years before retiring where he became a bus driver for Regina Public Schools. He enjoyed his work and will always be remembered for his hard work and dedication. Ron was passionate about all sports. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Unit 6A at the Regina General Hospital and Dr. S. Meiers along with the staff of the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, and to his very close friend, Don Waters. Funeral Service will be held at the Lumsden Centennial Hall, Lumsden SK on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. A family interment will follow at the Lumsden Cemetery.
